A generation of children has grown up witnessing genocide. Fathers were murdered. Sisters were taken into slavery. Villages were burned. As survivors fled, thousands of boys began their trek across Sudan toward Ethiopia and Kenya, often seeking refuge from militiamen, lions and fatigue in the branches of the acacia tree.
